The Lumps are a dynamic high energy power trio that sound like the Foo Fighters getting into a bar
brawl with the Hip while Leonard Cohen writes dirty poetry in the bathroom.
Rising from the ashes of rock bands Diesel Candy and the Junky Gods, the Lumps are
totally rocking the Vancouver music scene.
Marky Lump...a.k.a. Marky Diesel Candy, a.k.a. Mark Richardson, master of the sonorous guitar,
winds you through the cavern of the forgotten, with a neopunk/rock and roll version of Leonard Cohen's
"Famous Blue Raincoat". And gee the boy can sing too.
Groggy Lump (Greg Graham) fills the void with backup vocals and a magical mystery tour of his
own making... a primordial stew of punk, Zeppelin, and maybe just a little North Surrey...Steady
bass playing from a man who's played it for a while, first with H.O.C., the Icemen, then Diesel Candy,
more recently with Junky Gods...finally the man has a home!
Duck and cover as Jimmy Lump (James Kersten, formally of the Junky Gods) bashes out primal but oh,
so steady reminders that you are not alone... Cock an ear towards that wide abyss between "I cut myself
with a razor blade" edgy rock and commercial radio pleather, and you'll hear a resouding thump, thump, thump.
You better just lower that footrest on your Lazy-boy glide-o-matic and get ready for a straight set
of honest guitar, bass that ain't trying to be anything but damn good bass, and some nice ferocious
power drumming.
Long line of adjectives aside, this trio of Lumps are happy to be off their hiatus, and you will be
too...Check 'em out!!!
